BOLTON RESIDENT DIES IN LIFT SHAFT FALL
A property management company has been fined after a resident of Marsden House in Bolton died after falling down a lift shaft. Bolton Crown Court heard how 29 year old Craig Jones and a friend were trapped in a lift and unable to raise the alarm. They attempted a self-rescue by forcing the doors open and sliding out onto the floor below. COMPANY PROSECUTED AFTER WORKERS WERE SEVERELY BURNED
A North East engineering company was sentenced today for safety breaches after two of its workers were burned when they were sprayed with chemicals during chemical cleaning of a pipework system. Newcastle Crown Court heard today that on 31 July 2014 two employees of PSL Worldwide Projects Ltd received serious burns while working at a Hyclone UK Ltd site, in Cramlington. WASTE COOKING OIL FROM CATERING PREMISES
Guidance issued jointly by the Food Standards Agency, Cabinet Office, Environment Agency, Defra, HM Revenue and Customs and LACORS. Since 31 October 2004 waste cooking oil from catering premises can no longer be used as an ingredient in animal feed.
