Operative Courses



Health & Safety awareness -
A ½-day introductory course – Identifying and managing health and safety risk. Recommended follow-up course is our IOSH Working Safely, followed by IOSH Managing Safely.

Working at height -
A ½-day course which aims to help your organisation be legally compliant with the Work at Height Regulations.
Designed to promote a culture within your business that encourages everyone to consider the risks associated with working at height, and follow safe procedures while undertaking work.   

Plant assessments (NPORS) -

Plant operator assessment and training course on machinery to gain NPORS’ (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) qualification/competence card. This course is aimed at operators with little or no prior training on equipment they are asked to use at work. This course takes between 3-7 days. Depending on experience.

Experienced operator assessments -
Specific plant operating assessment - no training included - this course is for plant operators who have enough experience to be assessed on specific equipment, in order to gain NPORS certification. This course takes between 1-2 days, depending on number of plants to be trained on and experience of operator.

Refresher briefing and experienced operator assessment -
A 2-day refresher training course in order to renew your NPORS certification.

Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace -
This 1-day course sets out an agenda in the effective leadership of health and safety. The course is directed at senior managers and board members of companies. For all supervisors and senior managers, we recommend our 4-day IOSH Managing Safely course.

Manual Handling - basic lifting techniques and awareness -
Explains ways of reducing the risk of injuries to your back and problems to look for when making assessments. This 2-hour session can be booked as an add-on to other courses.

Manual Handling - generic or specific -
This course explains how to organise your workplace in a way that reduces the amount of repeated handling. It is designed for employees and will take 2-3 hours.

Manual Handling - training the trainer -
This ½-day course explains how to organise your workplace in a way that reduces the amount of repeated handling and how to carry out risk assessments on staff.
